Please don’t get me into trouble

Please don’t get me into trouble.

Even though I’ve created a synopsis of some of the main points, I strongly encourage everyone to read the Bible from the beginning to the very end, at least once. I don’t want to get into trouble with the BOSS here. In the Bible we’re told in various places to tread carefully when we’re dealing with GOD’s Word. For instance as follows,

Stick to The Word as is, don’t (mis)interpret

Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.

Moses tells me here loud and clear that we are not to add, nor diminish from Scripture in order that we keep the commandments which God commands us to. Not quite the same as what many religious leaders or my religious friends seem to understand, but I’ve decided to go with what Moses says.

And once more in Revelation, the last book of the Bible, from Jesus also,

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

See, the Bible explicitly warns against people leaving things out or adding things to God’s Word. People who do so are promised to go to a really hot place. I don’t tolerate heat very well. When it gets over 30 degrees where I live in Queensland I kinda struggle with wet towels on my head and have my feet dangling in a bucket of ice water.

I encourage everyone to read the Bible.

So please, if you don’t get to read the Bible, when you go knocking on those gates, tell them at least that you were encouraged to do so by me and that I wasn’t pretending that I have all the answers. Cause I most certainly don’t. Not by a long shot.

I am just a fallible human being who loves her Bible, and has fallen for the main author. So as not to get in trouble I prefer ‘Sola Scriptura.’

Sola Scriptura

Sola Scriptura is latin for Scripture alone. It means that if any person says anything that is not in line with Scripture, I give preference to Scripture because I acknowledge God’s Word as authoritative on all matters.

This is my disclaimer.

I know that I won’t be able to cover everything. I don’t intend to. I intend to give my readers a taste of what the Bible has to say about ‘living for ever’ without any church, synagogue or denominational flavour added to this. Just the truth of it according to Scripture. That’s all.

The bestselling book of all times

Blessings and curses

Most people think that the bible is only for religious people. What I discovered through reading the bible is that this information is not just for religious people. This information is for all of us. The blessings are for all of us if we line up for them and the curses are equally available to all of us if we invoke them. The bible does not belong exclusively to the Jewish people nor exclusively to the Christians. Sure the bible was written mainly by Jewish people and certainly is an amazing history book but the truth of The Word is for all of us and applies to all of us.

Bestselling book of all times

Right through history this information about curses and blessings and eternal life has been available in a book which has been on top of the bestseller list as the bestselling book of the year, every year.

Although it is impossible to obtain exact figures, there is little doubt that the Bible is the worlds best-selling and most widely distributed book. A survey by the Bible Society concluded that around 2.5 billion copies were printed between 1815 and 1975, but more recent estimates put the number at more than 5 billion.

By the end of 1995, combined global sales of Today’s English Version (Good News) New Testament and Bible (copyright for which is held by the Bible Societies) exceeded 17.75 million copies, and the whole Bible had been translated into 349 languages; 2123 languages have at least one book of the Bible in that language.

I’ve often grabbed this book throughout the years and for many years all I could see was the wars being fought by the kings and other characters in the book. Now I think that may have been because I was living in quite a bit of turmoil myself and at the time those stories obviously resonated with me, much as I disliked it.

Eventually, with the help of a kind teacher, I came to understand the profound lessons of this good book and the promise and reality of living for ever.

Stop struggling like crazy

What God’s Word has taught me is to stop struggling like crazy and I would like everyone else also to have the opportunity to do the same and feel the happiness and experience the peace and love that cannot be bought for any amount of money or effort.  God truly made me to laugh.

The best info on a fulfilling life for free

The guidelines that are given in the bible for a happy and fulfilling life are so easy that a child can follow them. The source of this information is free and you can get yourself a digital copy right here and a hard copy right here, for free. For real, the best info on a happy and fulfilling life is available for free to all of us.

The forbidden book

This bestseller will tell you how to have a great business, a great marriage, how to raise great kids, and how to deal with the inevitable sorrows we experience in life. There is not a question that I have had in life which has not been answered by the masters who wrote this wonderful book which is also called the scripture of truth and by some is called the forbidden book. I find the book is such a good read that I cannot stop picking it up and make it a daily habit at meal times to get a dose of the good stuff just to keep me on track.

Not everyone enjoys reading though and some people even struggle with it. Others have such busy lives that they would appreciate a synopses of the main points. I’ve created just that.

Easy enjoyable ten minute read

I am so very keen to share with others my new found freedom and happiness and peace of mind that I have distilled some of the topics of this great book into an easy ten minute read for which you need no reading glasses; guaranteed!

Why did I distill this information? Because scripture instructs us to tell our children about God’s Word and we all know the attention span of children.

Mission and vision

Identifying goals.

How to identify my mission and vision? I know what I enjoy doing most but I hadn’t quite figured out how to convert that into a well paying gig. At the end of 2013 I stumbled across Michael Hyatt’s goal setting workshop, signed up for it and one thing let to another and before I knew it I was googling and signing up for a stack of free newsletters and downloads from a whole hosts of internet gurus, life style coaches and the like. I never even knew they existed. As they say, we learn something new every day.

Anyway, one sounded better than the other and for a few weeks I was immersed in reading their blogs and promises and course materials and freebies and learned much in the process about identifying what my life is all about, what I want to make of it and where I want to take it.

Very grateful.

This makes me very grateful to each and every person that helped me in the last few months to get more clarity about my life. There are some good people out there. In case you are looking for a life coach or where to take your business next and how to increase your profits and live up to your best potential I’ll tell you about the people I met on my travels as soon as I get the category ‘internet buddies’ up and running.

I am not affiliated with any of them in any way other than that I signed up to Michael Hyatt’s Best Year Ever goal setting workshop and am reaping the benefits of this every single day. I also signed up to another of Michael’s courses but haven’t opened any of these files yet. I have been too busy checking out the competition and signing up to some of their news letters and freebie courses. What links all these people is their motivation and desire to help others live up to their best potential and increase their profits.

A big hug and thank you to all of my internet buddies for providing so much valuable information for free.

You have all helped me realise what kind of profit I am after.

After reading through a tiny tidbit of the information out there I realised that I have no time for any of that marketing stuff at this stage because it is not where my heart is at. Yes my aim is to recover my health, be debt free and financially independent but I am not sure how much I’ll be able to follow any of what these wonderful people are teaching because my heart is after a a different kind of profit.

The kind of profit prophet that I am after.

The kind of prophet I am after has the Words of eternal life. His name is Jesus and He is the prophet that I am following and I cannot wait to share with you what he has to say about Living For Ever.

The other profits will simply have to wait.

Recapping

Previous posts summarised

This blog is about living forever and before I continue I will recap what the previous posts were all about.

Explanation of the concept of living forever

It is with Adam and Eve that the concept of living forever was explained to humanity. Adam and Eve taught us that disobedience to our maker gets us in big trouble, so much so that they were both thrown out of the garden of Eden as a result of their disobedience.

Obedience brings blessings

God gave Sarah and Abraham a son in their old age and this made both of them laugh. Abraham was blessed because he obeyed God. The same with Noah and Joshua and Caleb.

 How to obtain ongoing happiness

How to obtain ongoing happiness is linked with living forever because it is in the giving and in the losing, not in the getting nor obtaining in this world, that happiness and eternal life are achieved. This is also addressed on my page God Hath Made Me To Laugh! There are some great links on this page with regards to happiness.

 The greeting of living forever

The greeting of Living Forever is a royal one and I pray for all my readers to be living forever.

Americans stand a better chance to get to heaven

Beats me, why Americans stand a better chance to get to heaven, but it appears to be, at least, mathematically correct.

 Never ever give up!

The never ever give up address is one of my favourite talks given by Naval Admiral William H. McRaven at the University of Texas at Austin. I believe that, to achieve anything in life that’s worth achieving, we’ll need to apply the tenacity spoken about by the Admiral. I’ve fought for my life and begged for my life to be restored to me and God is good and is answering my prayers and I’m so stoked that I want you all to know about it and laugh with me.

 Thank you and dedication

The thank you and dedication post as well as the, Why A Blog On Living Forever? posts explains who I am talking to about living forever and you’re very welcome to listen in.

 Our baptism

Our baptism story relays our attempts to get baptised and what Jesus says about being born again.

 Is there a church heaven?

If there is a church heaven then people who hang out with their church buddies may already be living in paradise and the rest of us will just have to figure out what the go is for us. According to scripture, obedience to God is closely related to living forever.

 The LORD bless thee

Who are the children of Israel? According to the bible, the children of Israel are those who consciously choose to align themselves with the Creator of heaven and earth. Those who purposely and deliberately choose to follow his guidelines are considered blessed.

Is it possible to live forever?

The Samaritan story as told in the bible and relayed in the post, Is it possible to live forever? tells us in clear language that eternal life, according to Jesus, is linked with God’s Law and love and we’ll get into more detail about that later.

I thought it was a little angel

My story, I Thought It Was a Little Angel, talks about one of my personal experiences with depression and I learned from that episode in my life that despite our very best efforts, society hasn’t really got a handle on illnesses such as depression. Sometimes society’s methods works and often they don’t. God’s method has proven to be foolproof for my family and myself.

The funniest religious joke of all time

The story which has been voted the funniest religious joke of all times highlights the hypocrisy of religious people when it comes to loving each other.

 Jonah goes to Nineveh

Jonah’s story shows us that God cares about those who do their own thing as much as He cares about those who profess to follow Him. That is exactly what made Jonah so mad, the fact that God is merciful to all and not just to the religious few.

Jonah goes to Nineveh

Jonah goes to Nineveh

When GOD told Jonah to go to Nineveh to give the inhabitants a chance to save themselves, Jonah tried to run away from the task that he had been given. So much so that he didn’t really care if he would live or die as long as he did not have to tell the wicked people in Nineveh that they could be saved.

As far as he was concerned they were bad people who deserved what was coming to them and he was not prepared to help save them from their fate.

Jonah tried without much success to hide from GOD; he was thrown out of the boat, swallowed by the whale, spat out on the beach and eventually did as he was told.

Jonah sulked when people were forgiven

Soon after Jonah delivered his message to the people of Nineveh they felt bad enough about their wicked deeds to ask GOD to forgive them. And GOD forgave them. This made Jonah even more upset than he had been before and he went to sulk outside of the city in the shade and told GOD, “It is better for me to die than to live.” Jonah wished death upon himself because he was so very angry that GOD forgave wicked people after they asked him for forgiveness.

Jonah experienced GOD’s compassion himself when he was forgiven after running away from GOD. And when he consequently was thrown into the sea and swallowed by a whale and yet lived. GOD even grew Jonah a large plant to shade him from the hot sun whilst Jonah was feeling sorry for himself. Yet Jonah struggled to understand why GOD would forgive evil people even though they showed some measure of remorse for their bad deeds.

Jonah felt sorry for a plant which withered but couldn’t forgive people who showed remorse after they had done the wrong thing.

GOD is merciful and responds to remorse

Jonah said “I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.”

The book of Jonah teaches us about God’s mercy and is read in its entirety during the Feast of Yom Kippor which is the day of atonement as mentioned in the bible.

Jonah – A Lesson in Compassion by Rabbi Dr Greg Killian

Rabbi Dr. Greg Killian tells us in his study “Jonah – a lesson in compassion” that “Yonah son of Amittai was the son of the widow from Tzorphath with whom Elijah the prophet stayed during the years of famine, and that it was this boy that Elijah revived.”

Yonah’s mother was from the tribe of Asher, and his father from Zevulun.

Amittai is derived from the Hebrew word: ‘emet’, meaning truth. From this we understand that Jonah (Yonah means dove in Hebrew) is a man of truth. Truth, as Jonah understands it, demands that evil never be overlooked; evil must be punished. Jonah is the “son of truth”, a man of unbending commitment to the truth. This may explain Jonah’s stance that evil must be punished. He was struggling to comprehend GOD’s compassion for evil people even though he experienced GOD’s mercy himself.

The story of Jonah teaches us to be compassionate towards one and other.

Jesus said, blessed are the merciful because they shall obtain mercy.

The Funniest Religious Joke Of All Time

About loving one and other

The following joke by Emo Philips has been voted the funniest religious joke of all times.

Loving each other

Once I saw this guy on a bridge about to jump. I said, “Don’t do it!”

He said, “Nobody loves me.”

I said, “God loves you. Do you believe in God?”

He said, “Yes.”

I said, “Are you a Christian or a Jew?”

He said, “A Christian.”

I said, “Me, too! Protestant or Catholic?”

He said, “Protestant.”

I said, “Me, too! What franchise?”

He said, “Baptist.”

I said, “Me, too! Northern Baptist or Southern Baptist?”

He said, “Northern Baptist.”

I said, “Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist or Northern Liberal Baptist?”

He said, “Northern Conservative Baptist.”

I said, “Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region, or Northern Conservative Baptist Eastern Region?”

He said, “Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region.”

I said, “Me, too! Northern Conservative†Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1879, or Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912?”

He said, “Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912.”

I said, “Die, heretic!” And I pushed him over.

Believers are commanded to love one and other

Believers are commanded to love one and other. The commandments tell us this and Jesus summed it up just as His Father did by saying, ‘Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.’

Jokes are usually funniest when they resemble real life. Many religious people find it easy to love each other when they are in agreement on the doctrine, but as soon as there is the slightest disagreement many of us are happy to threaten each other with hell fire. My teacher taught me to continue loving people when I’m in disagreement with them too. In scripture we are not asked to love each other, but we are ‘commanded’ to love one and other.  Jesus said that his disciples can be recognised by the love they have for one and other.

And yet one of the scariest things for me is to share my love of scripture with others. Why is it scary to share my love of scripture particularly with other believers? Because many  believers think that the only right way to believe is ‘their’ way. This is beautifully illustrated by Elmo’s joke as mentioned above.

The bible tells me that God knows the heart and that we are not to judge each other. Many people turn away from religion because of the hypocrisy. Just the other day I read a lovely quote by a religious man who said that he ‘put all the books aside.’ And now his religion is  “Never be the source of anyone’s misfortune and never pass up the opportunity to perform a charitable deed.” That is all.  By Carl D’Agostino. I think that sums the teachings up just nicely.

A star rating is just someones opinion and beauty is in the eye of the beholder

The above joke by Elmo tells us that religion is no joke and that there is a lot of room for improvement. The following three scenarios highlight the inanity to expect others to see anything at all the same way as we do ourselves.

Scenario one

Whenever I go to Amazon books and read the reviews about any given book, it never ceases to amaze me how many different opinions are given for any particular book. Whilst many people may hit the five star button, there’s usually also a fair few who hit the one or two star button. And all that this shows me is that human beings tend to have different opinions about the same thing.

The five star opinion nor the one star opinion make the book necessarily a good or a bad book. The star rating is just a measure of someones opinion about the book.

Scenario two

A friend brought in her new puppy dog the other day and the neighbour’s child ran out crying after the puppy jumped up at her  and licked her. The child thought that the dog attacked her whilst in reality the dog was trying to make a new friend. A little later whilst my daughter was sitting on the floor playing with the puppy, the child’s mum walked in and asked if this was a guide dog in training. The first person thought that the puppy was an vicious monster, the mum thought that the dog was a guide dog and my daughter saw the same animal as a playmate. Could they all be right at the same time?

Scenario three

Standing on the shore line one day my husband pointed to a boat in the distance and said that he could see the coast guard. My brother who was standing next to him and expecting one of his sailor friends to drop by, insisted it was a yacht. His ten year old son peering through his new binoculars could only see a pirate ship. All three of them were looking at the same boat at the same time.

Please don’t push me off the bridge

Considering the three above given scenarios; what makes us think that we are ever going to be in agreement over religion, denominations or churches, temples and synagogues? We all have different viewpoints and different religions, yet we are all human beings who share this planet and our stories in order to be of benefit to one and other.

I’ll be talking about God’s Word and how it has impacted my life and why it works for me and my family. What I have learned in the process is that everyone will give their own interpretation about their own religion or lack thereof. Yet in the end it is all about what is in a person’s heart.

I love GOD’s Word because it has given me a template to live by and it answers every single question I’ve ever had. I am very grateful and keen to share this with anyone who wants to hear because God’s Word kept me alive and has given me hope for a new life and new future and I know it will do the same for others too.
I am tentatively taking my first few new steps.

Please don’t push me off the bridge.

I Thought It Was a Little Angel IV

You would be the one … better than seven sons

What did I learn from being a mum? I learned that it is GOD who gives children and any request in this regard should be addressed to Him.

And Adam knew Eve his wife;
and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said,
I have gotten a man from the Lord.

According to the bible we are mere instruments. Later on in the bible we get confirmation of this when we read Sarah complaining to her husband that GOD restraint her from bearing. She was wrong in that GOD restraint her from bearing because Sarah bore a child in her old age. But she was right when she understood that it is up to GOD when and if she were to have a child.

Children are a heritage of The LORD

The bible tells us that GOD gives the barren woman a home, making her the joyous mother of children and that children are a heritage of the LORD and the fruit of the womb a reward.

We’re told that obeying GOD goes hand in hand with blessings, when devout husbands pray for their wife to become pregnant GOD is likely to hear them and when an ‘infertile’ woman named Hannah prayed for a baby, The LORD granted her request also.

The secret wonders of birth belong to GOD

We’re told that the secret wonders of birth belong to GOD and He is in charge.

Finally we’re told that no one is able to snatch anyone out of GOD’s hand. I like that … a lot.

So what did I learn from all of that? I learned that it is useless to fret over issues to do with my children. My children come from GOD. He is their Father. As such when they misbehave or need help, I talk to Him.

Thank you Father for blessing my children

Thank you Father for blessing my children. Both my children are alway there for me and if it weren’t for my Angel I possibly wouldn’t be around anymore. She was there when I needed a friend and played a big role in My Story Of Survival.

Do you wanna be my friend

Oh look it’s a little angel,
Oh, look it’s a little angel.
Never more grateful
Never more jazzed
Life just gained significance

Do you wanna be my friend
Yes I surely do
The mother of an angel
And all because of you

 She loves me no
She loves me yes
It’s abundantly clear
Perfect your mothering
Hold this baby dear

Do you wanna be my friend
Yes I surely do
The mother of an angel
And all because of you

 Her charm is overpowering
Her kindness legendary
The things she gets up to
Uproariously hilarious

Do you wanna be my friend
Yes I surely do
The mother of an angel
And all because of you

 God made me to laugh
Better than seven sons
If I could have picked you myself,
you would be the one

 When I was out cold
You went to bat for me
When I needed help
It was you I did see
My perfect seraphim

Do you wanna be my friend
Yes I surely do
The mother of an angel
And all because of you

May God bless this Angel
Above all others
Just because of
This request of her mother

May God help you accomplish
your mission on earth
in his hands I place you
to whom I gave birth

Do you wanna be my friend
Yes I surely do
The mother of an angel
And all because of you.
